Samra Qaraghuli
Combatting Staphylococcus with Australian fungi, Flinders University
Could you imagine attempting a PhD in French, Japanese or even Arabic? Iraqi born Samra Qaraghuli studied English for just six months before she moved to Australia to begin her PhD in the College of Science and Engineering at Flinders University. Samra’s passion for science is, pardon the pun, infectious. Her research involves studying Australian fungi with the hope of creating a new family of antibiotics to combat Staphylococcus.
