Zahra Rahimpour
Plant-based insulation systems, University of Sydney
Zahra Rahimpour received her B.Sc in electrical engineering in Iran, was awarded the Deans Excellency Award for her Masters at Sydney Uni, was then awarded a government scholarship and started her PhD while five months pregnant. Zahra’s research primarily deals with how we can keep our homes and businesses at a comfortable temperature with reduced energy consumption, reduced cost and less environmental impact. Working with a plant-based insulation system, regulated to optimize the use of off-peak electricity, Zahra’s work already has considerable industry interest. Who doesn’t want a cheaper way to heat or cool your home that is better for the environment?
